Artist Selection (late March)
Any Artist who resides, works, volunteers, has resided at one time, participates in community events, has worked with community organizations, or has personal or Business connections with the Community in which he or she is applying for. We Believe it is important for artists to have a voice in their community. Artists must have painting and mural experience.
A bio, a resume, and 10 past work examples along with the preliminary designs are do to the KH Design offices by March 25, 2007 at 12pm.
A meet and greet between KH Design Advisory Board, Staff Artists and Applying artist is set for March 25, 2007. This allows a dialogue exchange between parties on Aesthetic theories.
KH Design Office Manager and Project Manager review applications to make sure they are complete.
KH Design Advisory Board reviews preliminary design to ensure they meet applied for communities requirements and suggestions.
Matching Artists and Communities (April 2007)
Qualified Applying artists attend a KH Design Facilitated Community meeting to evaluate and receive feedback on subject matter and content of preliminary sketches with community organizations, youth organizations, property owners, and political representatives of each community.
Refining Sketches (late April 2007)
Artists refine designs from feedback received at Community meeting
Once the designs are received by KH Design the Project Manager and Art Director the community organizations selection jury vote on Final Designs.
KH Design Advisory Board vote on the Design
Once 2 Artists for each community have been selected and the City of Pittsburgh Arts Commission and Property Owners give final approval Mural Painting Begins on June 4,2007
